I researched a number of canners and lastly got this 1 based on reviews - so glad I did. Particullarly glad I went with the weight gauge and not a dial gauge so I can hear it as an alternative of possessing to consistently check/babysit it.

I was rather excited to lastly expand my canning horizons. Just after researching each the knowledge on Amazon and manufacturer web sites, I bought the 16qt Mirro. Sadly, the first thing I saw upon opening the package was a significant disclaimer advising this is not for use on cook tops...Nicely I have a cook top rated as do countless families.. I contacted Mirro straight for further details. Just after a great 10 minute hold (devoid of cheery music), I was greeted by what I deemed to be the least consumer oriented consumer service rep I have dealt with in some time. His response was essentially, everyone knows you cannot use a pressure cooker on a cook top rated(which just after further analysis, is not correct). I asked why this is not disclosed on the Mirro web page. The response "where did you invest in the pressure cooker?" "you will need to speak to them regarding your concern"... basically throwing Amazon beneath the bus for not mentioning it. I am pretty sure the product facts offered on Amazon was copied from the Mirro web page. Moral of the story, I am positive that this could have been a great product. On the other hand, just after speaking with the business I will under no circumstances buy one other Wearever, T-Fal or Mirro item. Amazon delivers hassle-cost-free returns and I will be pleased to get it off my door step. FYI: I am ordering the Presto 16qt quickly. ~ And yes, I contacted Presto to confirm this is cook top rated protected and the representative was very willing to answer my questions.
